Due to our business growth, we are now looking for a HR Coordinator to strengthen our People & Culture team in Jyväskylä/ Helsinki, Finland. Qvantel operates "hybrid model" which allows you to combine working from home and from the office.

Job Purpose:

Purpose is to help our employees and managers to succeed. As an HR Coordinator, you'll handle HR processes, support employees and managers, and coordinate activities for an engaged working community. You'll be the go-to person for employment legislation, company policies, and tools. Your role includes day-to-day support for HR queries, administrative tasks, employee coaching, and promoting well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support addressing employment issues as related to HR policies and practices.
  • Support the preparation and execution of programs in HR annual clock (annual salary planning, target setting, performance management, employee satisfaction surveys, etc.)
  • Conduct support and training sessions related to HR practices
  • Provide functional support addressing local staffing requirements, new employee onboarding/orientations, promotions, changes in salary, transfers, parental leaves, resignation related exit interviews, etc.
  • Support local talent acquisition requirements by providing guidance, reviewing applications, and interviewing applicants as required.
  • Manage payroll process for Finland
  • Support with planning and/or organizing communication events, training events, team building events, and approved community activities.
  • Interact regularly with People and Culture colleagues (this is team work).
  • Support safe workplace cultures and compliance with company requirements.

Required skills and competences:

  • You're great at connecting with people - communicating and coaching employees and managers on HR policies and practices. You provide practical guidance and support to line managers and employees. You know your stuff when it comes to local employment legislation and collective agreements in the IT Service Sector.
  • You're a master at juggling multiple tasks according to the HR calendar, all while delivering top-notch service to both employees and managers. You're always quick to respond to HR queries from employees and managers, offering thoughtful and timely guidance and solutions.
  • Your interpersonal skills are on point, and people find you approachable and trustworthy. You know how to collaborate with HR colleagues and other stakeholders like Finance, IT, and Payroll. You're great at interacting with and motivating professionals, managers, and direct labor personnel.
  • You're efficient and knowledgeable when it comes to using HR systems for employee data management, staffing, training, compensation, health and wellness, and performance management. You handle employee and company data with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
  • When it comes to communication, you excel both verbally and in writing, especially in English and Finnish.
  • And let's not forget your solid skills with Microsoft Office applications. Excel and Powerpoint are daily tools - you should be friends with both.
  • Ability and interest to learn
  • Prior experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or HR Representative is a must (you know what HR is about). Suitable education is required as well (eg MBA, BBA, MSc in Economics)

We also appreciate:

  • Prior experience on recruitment
  • Prior experience on Labor laws and collective bargaining agreement related matters.
  • Being a positive minded colleague, who is fun to work with.
  • Spanish skills (not required though)
