The Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) provides specialized care and services to individuals who require Complex Continuing Care, Post-Acute Care Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, Wound Care, Respiratory Therapy, and Transitional & Remote Care. The care and services provided at TGHC helps facilitate patient flow through the health care system and ensures recovery so our patients can return to their homes or to Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in their communities. TGHC operates in 3 sites – the Main site (Church& Bloor St), Harbour Lights (Queen & Jarvis Street) houses and a Specialized Care Centre (Victoria Park & McNicoll)

Administrative Assistant – Outpatient Clinic

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced administrative assistant who possesses strong communication and organizational skills to work with our Outpatient Clinics.
MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES
- Performs clerical responsibilities.
- Interprets referrals, requisitions, booking forms, to generate an accurate appointment schedule following established guidelines.
- Creation and maintenance of patient records
- Maintains clinic bookings in EMR including blocking off schedules and rebooking patient appointments.
- Booking follow-ups as needed.
- Interacts with patients on the phone, and via email.
- Will explain any pre-prep for appointments as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years’ administrative support experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Medical Office Assistant Certificate from an accredited college or equivalent
- Post-secondary education
- Must have knowledge of booking appointments in a specialist’s office
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and agility to anticipate and tackle any task assigned
- Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and work effectively independently and as part of a team when required
- Proficiency with technology and multiple platforms (EMR, Excel) and other programs as required (Sharepoint)
